Jason was born and raised in Alexandria, Louisiana. The thrill entertaining took hold of Ashley at an early age. His first moments on stage involved performing in all of the school plays. He loved to sing and was the kid in school who lived and breathed music every moment of every day. Jason was influenced by great artists such as: Buddy Holly, Elvis Presley, Collin Raye, Otis Blackwell, Lionel Richie and Garth Brooks.
Totally focused on making his passion a career, Jason continued to work on his craft writing, performing and entering competitions whenever possible. In 1996, while performing at a St. Jude’s benefit concert, Jason met Nashville producer David Malloy.Malloy asked Jason if he would be interested in moving to Nashville to work with him and within weeks Jason was officially a Nashville resident. Ashley immediately began forming a connection with Nashville. He began working in the studio with Malloy, singing demos for famed songwriters such as Michael Garvin and others. Jason was performing at many of Nashville’s hottest clubs, making great contacts along the way and honing his skills writing and performing.
In 2005, Jason recorded his self-titled debut album ‘Coming Up Clean’. The album featured four songs from his own catalogue — ‘Walkin’ In the Rain’, ‘Handle With Care’, ‘That Man’, and ‘Spurs Over Stetsons’. Six more songs from Nashville’s best writers were also chosen. Jason’s proudest moment of his career was winning the award in 2007 for Texas Songwriter of the Year (The Terry Awards) for his song ‘Handle With Care’. This song has been a fan favorite and is deserving of the recognition received. Jason is not only an acclaimed songwriter, but an outstanding entertainer as well. He has over 17 years of stage experience. He has learned the formula and is proud to say he learned it from one of the largest night clubs in the business, Cowboys Dance Hall. He has performed as headliner in each of their locations which include San Antonio, Arlington and Dallas, Texas. Jason is proud of his latest project titled ’Undeniable’ — due for release in spring of 2012. Though his new collection of songs has some edge, Jason is the same hard-working, patriotic, rock-solid country boy that fans have grown to know and love since his debut album. This Lousiana native has an incredible talent of hitting on sentiments that strike a chord with his audience.
